Paid Diagnostic – Implementation Readiness

Clarify scope. De-risk delivery. Decide next steps.

This paid diagnostic is a short, fixed-scope engagement designed to answer one question:

Is this problem well-defined enough to implement safely in a fixed-price sprint?

It exists to remove ambiguity before implementation begins.

What This Is

A time-boxed, fixed-price diagnostic focused on clarity and risk reduction.

  • Not free discovery
  • Not open-ended consulting
  • Not implementation
  • No hidden upsell

The output is a written assessment you can use internally whether or not you proceed.

When This Is Required

A paid diagnostic is required when:

  • Requirements are fuzzy or evolving
  • AI success criteria are subjective
  • System boundaries are unclear
  • Multiple stakeholders are involved
  • The request includes phrases like "we'll figure it out" or "just hook into our system"

If your request clearly matches an existing implementation sprint, this step may be skipped.

What This Diagnostic Delivers

1️⃣ Problem Definition

  • Clear articulation of the problem to be solved
  • Explicit success criteria
  • Definition of what "done" means

2️⃣ Scope Boundaries

  • What is in scope
  • What is explicitly out of scope
  • Assumptions that must hold
  • External dependencies and constraints

3️⃣ Risk & Unknowns

  • Technical risks
  • AI-related uncertainty (if applicable)
  • Integration risks
  • Organizational or operational risks

Each risk is documented with:

  • Why it matters
  • How it could affect delivery

4️⃣ Sprint Fit Recommendation

One of three outcomes:

  • Ready for implementation sprint (scope can be locked)
  • ⚠️ Requires refinement or reduction before implementation
  • Not a good fit (with clear reasoning)

Delivery Artifacts

You will receive:

  • A 2–4 page written diagnostic
  • A proposed fixed-scope implementation outline (if viable)
  • A list of assumptions and risks
  • A clear go / no-go recommendation

All artifacts are yours to keep.

Timeline & Format

Duration
3–5 business days
Communication
Async + up to 2 short calls
Implementation
No implementation work during this phase

Pricing

$2,000
Fixed price, flat fee
Fully credited toward a $10,000 implementation sprint if you proceed
No obligation to continue

What This Is Not

To be explicit, this diagnostic does not include:

  • Writing production code
  • UI or product design
  • Full architecture overhauls
  • Proofs of concept
  • Unlimited iteration

Its purpose is clarity, not construction.

Why This Exists

Skipping this step often leads to:

Scope creep
Undefined boundaries lead to expanding requirements
Missed expectations
Unclear success criteria cause misalignment
Failed fixed-price projects
Ambiguity destroys predictability

The diagnostic protects both sides by ensuring the real work is well-defined before it begins.

Outcome

At the end of the diagnostic, you will know:

  • Whether the project should move forward
  • What can be built safely
  • What should not be attempted yet

And if you proceed, the implementation sprint starts with locked scope and zero surprises.
